Initiatives

University Partnership “Télétandem”

A linguistic (French & English) and cultural virtual exchange program between the communities of Brown and Aix Marseille University (amU), France since 2024

  • Google form (Fall 2025) for students to register into the linguistic and cultural exchange program
  • Google sheet (Fall 2025) shared with participants to help them schedule their conversation sessions

The DELF Testing Center

With the help of a French Embassy grant, I implemented and manage the testing since 2023.

  • Design of the website content
  • Lead info sessions for prospective candidates (slides)
  • Recruit DELF certified testers
  • Manage the logistics pertaining to this initiative including budget (i.e., candidate registration, test proctoring, rater calibration sessions, test evaluation, diploma delivery, email inquiries)

Field Trip to the Museum of Work & Culture

Lead with graduate students/visiting instructors a field trip to the museum of work and culture in Woonsocket to explore with Brown and RISD students the French Québec heritage in Rhode Island

Community Engagement

Brown Data Science Institute (DSI)

As an affiliated Faculty and mentor, I worked with the DSI on multiple projects to help French learners in their language learning journey. The final product is the website Where will French Learning Take You? created with DSI fellow Stiles Begnaud.

  • Recruit high-quality presenters and schedule their presentations
  • Record, (co)host, and moderate the webinar
  • Advertise IALLT webinars through various channels of communication

Association for the Assessment of Learning in Higher Education (AALHE)
